Wayne Holly founded Beach Prospects with a vision to empower prospects and families to make informed decisions when selecting a college and engaging the recruiting process. Wayne brings a unique blend of experiences in college athletics, the practice of law, and business leadership to his work advising student athletes and their families. As the collegiate sports landscape continues to evolve and become more professionalized, Wayne helps clients navigate the complex financial, legal, and strategic implications of their decisions from the start of the process through the final decision to sign with a school. In an environment that increasingly resembles the business world, Wayne's professional approach and step-by-step guidance empowers clients to make informed decisions with clarity and confidence.
NCAA Experience
Wayne is the former head beach volleyball coach at Tulane University (2013-2019) where he recruited and coached the only two beach volleyball All Americans in program history. He led the program to a national ranking in each of six consecutive seasons from 2013-2019, including three straight 20+ win seasons (2016-2018) and led the winningest women's athletics program on campus during his six year tenure. He became the 9th head beach volleyball coach in history to achieve 100 career wins on March 8, 2019 with a 5-0 win over the University of Southern Mississippi. At the time of his departure from Tulane, Wayne ranked 7th among active head coaches in beach volleyball wins. During the 2019-2020 (COVID) season, Wayne was an assistant beach volleyball coach at Georgia State University. Wayne began his collegiate coaching career in the Ivy League at Brown University. He was an assistant women's indoor coach from 2011-2013.
Legal and Professional Experience
For more than ten years before entering collegiate athletics, Wayne practiced law in New York. Wayne represented clients in matters of corporate insolvency, pre-bankruptcy asset and exemption planning, civil and criminal fraud, and white collar criminal defense. During the same time, Wayne's published legal writing appeared in The New York Law Journal, The Brooklyn Law Review, New York State Bar Association Criminal Justice Journal, New York Law School Journal of Human Rights, and Seton Hall Law Review, among others.

Wayne has held numerous head and assistant coaching positions with USA Volleyball's former Beach High Performance Program and Junior National Team programming, including:

* Assistant Coach, U21 Beach National Team (2013) (Men and Women)

* Assistant Coach, U19 Junior National Team (volunteer) (2012-2013) (girls)
Internationally, Wayne was a member of the USA Volleyball coaching staff delegations for the FIVB U21 World Championships (Men and Women) (Croatia), U23 World Championships (Men and Women) (Poland) and U19 World Championships (Men and Women) (Portugal).
Coaching Education
In addition to coaching, Wayne previously worked extensively with USA Volleyball Coaching Education. He earned the highest level coaching certifications available to the general public in both indoor (CAP III) and beach (BCAP II) volleyball coaching. He was an instructor for USAV's Beach Coaching Accreditation Program and developed curriculum for the BCAP program in areas related to practice design, season practice planning, periodization, feedback, motor learning and other topics.
Wayne continues to conduct independent research and write extensively on issues related to beach volleyball coaching. His work has appeared in the Coaching Volleyball Magazine, the JVA Blog and numerous other volleyball media outlets. He was a regular presenter at the annual AVCA Coaches Convention, appeared in numerous coaching webinars and collaborated with the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) on developing effective methods for measuring performance for beach volleyball athlete development.
Committees and Education
Wayne is a former member of the AVCA Beach All American Committee and the CBVB National Ranking Committee for collegiate beach volleyball from 2020 through 2024.
Wayne earned a B.A. degree in philosophy and political science from Rhode Island College (1989) (magna cum laude) and a J.D. from New York Law School (1993). He is a former intern and research aid to the late U.S. Senator Claiborne Pell (D-RI) in Washington D.C.
